IMHO, this should use Geoclue instead of ModemManager, to support other providers than GPS devices (wifi, geoip, etc.) And, you should push harder to get the MM1 interfaces in tree :)

Having ModemManager as a provider for Geoclue is in my TODO list :-). But anyway, the most used location source in MM won't be GPS but the 3GPP location information (MCCMNC, location area code, cell id). Also, note that these location sources do *not* need an active network connection to work. Regarding the MM1 interfaces, you mean in gnome-shell, right? I should really rebase the patch I wrote.
