You don't need to create custom settings function. Use this instead: const ExtensionUtils = imports.misc.extensionUtils; let settings = ExtensionUtils.getSettings(); also add this to metadata.json: "settings-schema": "org.gnome.shell.extensions.sp-tray", You can always ask questions related to the extensions by joining us on GNOME Matrix channel: https://matrix.to/#/#extensions:gnome.org
