Disable Window Animations

Disables window manager animations including workspace switching for GNOME 3.6 or older. Starting with version 3.8 the code has been merged into GNOME and you can turn this behavior on with gconf-editor org.gnome.desktop.interface.enable-animations.

This will not actually disable all animations (as reported in core shell bug), but sure!
