There are too many volume controller extensions in GS. Can you simply describe what difference between yours and others?

For gnome 3.4, there is only one other volume bar to control alsa and it has several bugs (https://github.com/hotvic/Alsa-Mixer/issues), it crashes when the volume is 100 and the ratio of the slider to the actual volume is not right. It also does not react to the volume being muted and cannot control the mute setting. I am aware that there are other extensions to control alsa but none of them are compatible with my version of gnome except the one above.

I need to make a change, the preferences is not working when installed from the website so I need to include a gschemas.compiled file. How do I do this?
