Add an indicator in top panel to list recently opened files

Does disabling the extension work as expected? It looks like the icon is kept when the extension is disabled since the stuff that's happening in enable() isn't reversed in disable(). But I haven't tested it. Any icons, objects, handlers, timers, etc. that get created, need to be removed in disable(). Is that happening?
