Why are you counting that (line 378 `extension.js`)?

Because libsoup requests can occasionally get stuck (see the watchdog at line 535). this counter acts as a fencing token that version-stamps each session, so late callbacks from a stale session can be recognized and discarded. It's basicly a workaround born of necessity — or perhaps my Agent and I simply don't know a more elegant solution. This extension is mainly for my own use, and before this fence was added, the auto-refresh would frequently break.
