GNOME waits a full 60 seconds before it actually logs you out, powers off, restarts, or restarts to install updates — even after you've confirmed the dialog. Quick Exit shortens that wait to whatever you want, as little as 1 second. Change it any time from the extension's Preferences (open the Extensions app, find Quick Exit, click the settings icon) — 5 seconds by default. It only ever shortens GNOME's countdown, never lengthens it. Not affiliated with the GNOME Project.
