An indicator that let's you save and restore your open apps and the window positions and arrangements over multiple real and virtual displays. Requires lwsm and nodejs to be installed (`npm install -g linux-window-session-manager`).

I am not really sure about just trying to install the dependencies without any user interaction. Is it a lot of work to put that behind a dialog?
@maweki: Thanks for taking your time. That would definitely be a good idea, I completely agree. Haven't found a way to do so though unfortunately. Any ideas? The docs aren't great unfortunately and I haven't found another extension who does open up a dialog so far.
Yeah, I think I won't approve this in the current state. I am not much of a GTK programmer. I just do the reviews. Maybe this (https://github.com/optimisme/gjs-examples/blob/master/egDialog.js) is helpful for spawning a dialogue? I've seen styled dialogues before (like elevating privileges in the gnome shell), so it must be possible. You could also ask in the shell mailing list.
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately the example crashed my system, when being run from the extension ;) But I think I made it work in a better way. This can be rejected as there is a newer version available.
