looks good in general. Is this the same functionality as https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/26/islamic-datetime-functions/ ?
Yes. It has same functionality as that extension. In addition, we can see prayer times directly. Guidance (Mac app, http://guidanceapp.com/) is the inspiration though.
Okay, I really don't know anything about this so please excuse me if I sound stupid: It seems like your extension generally has the same functionality provided by the other extension. Usually we don't want many extensions that do the same thing. I would ask to send in changes to the original extension but the other extension doesn't provide github sources to contribute and hasn't been updated in years. Additionally your extension displays the data in a different fashion, therefore I will approve this. But please do change the name of the extension to maybe include the words "Islamic Calender" or something similar. For you this name might be descriptive enough, but for the general audience it probably isn't. (This can be done without going through review again - just change the name in the metadata file and re-upload without other code changes) You could also think about a setting to display the prayer (and other significant) times in the date menu as the old extension does. This seems like a nice feature as well.
