You really should not put .git inside the extension package. You can also avoid a bind() every time customSetCount is called (it is rather expensive), and just use originalSetCount.call(this, count, visible): In any case, I don't think the easter egg is appropriate... It is pretty strong, and unexpected/unfunny for anyone who did not follow the original bug report.
