1. Don't use sync spawn since that can freeze the shell process (line 69, 91, 131 `extension.js`): [GJS Guide: Subprocesses](https://gjs.guide/guides/gio/subprocesses.html#complete-examples) 2. It can be approved but I recommend to give users the option to change the `1.1.1.1` (line 131 `extension.js`) since some people may don't like to ping specific ips.
