0.3.0 rc1 replaces the pending 0.2.1 rc1. Shexli 0.2.1 reports no findings. Things worth knowing: - Subprocesses (all async Gio.Subprocess, no shell, fixed argv): - Claude tab: runs the user's own Claude Code `claude -p --no-session-persistence /usage` when the tab or its panic button comes on screen, at most once a minute, so Claude Code refreshes its usage cache. Off with Settings -> Claude -> "Ask Claude Code for fresh usage". Stopped after 30 s and on disable(). - Btop tab (system monitor): `nvidia-smi --query-gpu=...` only while the tab is on screen and an NVIDIA GPU is awake (never wakes a runtime-suspended GPU), from /usr/bin or /bin only, killed after 5 s. NVIDIA's driver exposes these readings nowhere in sysfs. - Timers: one periodic timer, only while the Btop tab is visible (1-10 s, configurable, default 2 s); removed when the tab or island is hidden and on disable(). All other reads are async /proc and /sys. - Network: the Claude tab fetches two public files from raw.githubusercontent.com (livenerf benchmark), at most once an hour while the tab is on screen. - Private Shell API, all in shell/dateMenu.js: Main.panel.statusArea.dateMenu.container (made transparent so the island replaces the clock) and dateMenu._clock (its GnomeDesktop.WallClock, listened to for minute ticks instead of creating and disposing one). - disable() is also run on every screen lock; the headless tests check that the Shell's state is identical before enable and after disable.
