I'm not sure why one would use the KDE IM framework with GNOME, but, yeah!
It's not a im framework, an implementation of dbus protocol for display IM UI. Works with both fcitx, ibus, and scim with proper backend. If distro split them properly, no actual KDE libs dependency is required.
