This doesn't seem to actually work. Did you test it yourself on GNOME 40? On my machine the wnck import in prefs.js is giving issues (might be just my machine), but when I tried removing that import (it wasn't being used) I got the next error from append_mark which is not a function. add_mark on the other hand is still a function in GTK 4 too. Any reason to not disconnect signals in disable anymore?
