You may have some luck with changing the version in 'metadata.json' to your gnome-shell version. Undecorate maximized windows, like Ubuntu's old 'Maximus' package. See readme at extension homepage.

GNOME 3.2 version, best diff'd against v6. Added some extra checks that were causing errors every now and then, and fixed a bug where if you maximized a window, moved it to another workspace, and unmaximized it, it would not redecorate.
