Please remove `schemas/gschemas.compiled`. Not needed for 45+ packages.

I removed the schemas/gschemas.compiled from the zipfile but I'm now getting some odd behavior. I extracted it to /home/craig/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/serverstatus@footeware.ca then logged off and on. The extension appears broken with this error in Extension Manager: GLib.FileError: Failed to open file “/home/craig/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/serverstatus@footeware.ca/schemas/gschemas.compiled”: open() failed: No such file or directory I then got a notification about a new version available and I log off and on again. The extension now works but it's at version 45, the latest from ego. The new code at version 46 is gone. I'm running Ubuntu 25.10 with GNOME 49 (and GNOMEOS 50 in Boxes). Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I expected the extracted zip to just work after logging off and on.

Because you removed the file from the installed folder. On GNOME Shell 45+, the zip package is being used as the install package, and on install, the XML file will be compiled automatically. So, this the correct way of installing the zip package: ```bash gnome-extensions install file.zip ```
