GSConnect is a complete implementation of KDE Connect especially for GNOME Shell with Nautilus, Chrome and Firefox integration. It does not rely on the KDE Connect desktop application and will not work with it installed. KDE Connect allows devices to securely share content like notifications or files and other features like SMS messaging and remote control. The KDE Connect team has applications for Linux, BSD, Android, Sailfish, iOS, macOS and Windows. Please report issues on Github!
Note: Binary files aren't shown on the web site. To see all files, please download the extension zipfile.

Hi, I think we're ok to approve this extension, but the description could do with a bit of work - it should at least explain what else needs to be installed, or at least where to find that information. Could you update it with that info? Neil
Hi, I'm sorry but I had basically assumed this extension wasn't going to be approved since it had been so long since I submitted it, not that I'm complaining, because I understand there is a lot of code here compared to most extensions. The current github release is v9, which has tons of code changes and bugfixes, but worse than that the upcoming v10 is nearly a complete rewrite...To be honest I haven't thought about the release on here for sometime or I would have asked it been rejected. I can probably figure out the dependencies, as there are very few required that aren't already dependencies of Gnome Shell, but I doubt I'll be able to respond to bug reports for this version. Let me know how you'd like to proceed and I'll have a look at the dependencies for that version (might only be sshfs).
Hrm, given I'm using v9 personally from github, and don't have any issues, others are probably ok to use that too :) For the dependency info, you could link to https://github.com/andyholmes/gnome-shell-extension-gsconnect/wiki/Installation#dependencies for now, as I realise it's a little complex. I'd (personally) also add to the description: "This extension is a complete KDE Connect protocol that integrates with Gnome Shell, Nautilus and Chrome or Firefox, the implementation is written in GJS To connect an Android device, install the KDE Connect Android app from the Google Play Store or F-Droid."
I've been taking a bit of time, aside from the rewrite for v10, to review the state of v9. v7 -> v9 is fairly clean update, however there a number of known bugs that probably should be addressed, and they are frequently reposted on github even though they have been fixed in master. I could backport a few fixes and make a v9-ego specific release, but I'm undecided because v10 will include _major_ breaks in settings, among other things. I'm just concerned it's going to be a really jarring update for a lot of users. It's already a fairly popular extension on github, so I can only imagine what things would look like when it's released here. I'll try and make a decision by tomorrow about what to do...sorry for the indecision here.
Okay, so I think yes we should go ahead since v10 will be a long time coming. I've put the word on on github to my translators and anyone who had a bug fixed in master, to check in with me as soon as possible. You said you are using v9 successfully yourself, so would you be willing to approve a v9 with bugfixes/translations for release here (so I can keep version parity) if I upload that in a couple days (or as soon as folks get back to me)? If so I'll upload v8 (to be rejected) and v9-bugfix ASAP.
