Vintage digital display with a high-fidelity 7-segment look. 10 color themes, custom colors, ghost segments, CRT scanlines, desktop widget mode, a quick color-switch menu, a date tooltip on hover, and integrated alarms with an on-screen dialog so they're never missed. Draws its digits from SVG path data embedded in the extension's code (no system font installation needed) and plays alarms through GNOME Shell's native sound theme; no bundled audio, font or image files.

What changed in this release v74, and why 1. Digits are now drawn from embedded SVG data instead of a bundled font. Previously the extension shipped a .ttf file (DSEG7 Classic) and relied on the system having it available to render the clock. Now the digit shapes are embedded as SVG path data directly in the code and rasterized at runtime — no font file, nothing to install or keep in sync with the Shell process across restarts. Same visual result, smaller and more self-contained package. The glyph shapes are still a derivative of DSEG7, so the OFL license text stays bundled as the license requires, but the actual font file is gone. 2. The alarm sound now plays through GNOME Shell's own sound theme instead of a bundled audio file. It uses global.display.get_sound_player().play_from_theme('alarm-clock-elapsed', ...) — the same mechanism the Shell itself uses for its own sounds — instead of reading a local .ogg shipped with the extension. One less file in the package, and one less local file read. The extension already shows an on-screen modal dialog when an alarm rings, so alarms were never dependent on audio to be noticed in the first place; that just continues to be true here. 3. New: a one-time notification when the extension updates. After an update, the user gets a single system notification (with the extension's own icon) letting them know it's now running the new version. It's purely informational — no new permissions, no network access, just a local comparison against the previously stored version number in the extension's own settings. Nothing else changes for the end user — same features, same behavior, same look. This release is about making the package lighter and less dependent on bundled files, not about new functionality to configure.
