Review of "Retro LCD 7-Segment Clock" version 77

Details Page Preview

Vintage digital display with a high-fidelity 7-segment look. 10 color themes, custom colors, ghost segments, CRT scanlines, desktop widget mode, a quick color-switch menu, a date tooltip on hover, and integrated alarms with an on-screen dialog so they're never missed. Draws its digits from SVG path data embedded in the extension's code (no system font installation needed) and plays alarms through GNOME Shell's native sound theme; no bundled audio, font or image files.

Whats new in v77? New: Vertical Panel Layout. A new switch in General settings shows a compact display — alarm bell, hours and minutes stacked, no seconds or date — meant for a panel docked to the left or right edge of the screen (e.g. with Dash to Panel). It has no effect in desktop widget mode, and the switch is greyed out while widget mode is on. Fix: on a narrow vertical panel the digits, ghost segments and shadow now stay centered instead of overflowing off one edge when the display doesn't fit the panel's width. Font size can now go down to 0.5 (previously 1.0), useful for fitting the clock into a thin panel. Minor: "Reset to Defaults" now also resets the new Vertical Panel Layout switch. Kind Regards :)
