Review of "Retro LCD 7-Segment Clock" version 83

Details Page Preview

Vintage digital display with a high-fidelity 7-segment look. 10 color themes, custom colors, ghost segments, CRT scanlines, desktop widget mode, a quick color-switch menu, a date tooltip on hover, and integrated alarms with an on-screen dialog so they're never missed. Draws its digits from SVG path data embedded in the extension's code (no system font installation needed) and plays alarms through GNOME Shell's native sound theme; no bundled audio, font or image files.

Hello, and thank you again for the v82 review. Version 83 adds one small feature and a few robustness fixes. The module structure from v82 is unchanged. NEW FEATURE - Date tooltip: when the pointer rests over the clock, a small label shows the full date. It is a new, self-contained class (src/ui/dateTooltip.js). - It uses the shell's own "dash-label" style and is added with Main.layoutManager.addChrome() with affectsInputRegion disabled, so it never takes input. - It listens to "notify::hover" and "button-press-event" on the clock actor. It shows after a 400 ms delay and hides on leave or click. - It owns its cleanup: destroy() disconnects both signals, removes the pending timeout, calls removeChrome() and destroys the label. The clock view calls it before destroying the clock actor. - It can be turned off with a new setting ("show-date-tooltip", default on) and a switch in Preferences. FIXES 1. Alarm dialog: ModalDialog.open() can return false (for example if another modal is active). The result was ignored before, so the alarm could ring with nothing on screen and the unopened dialog was never destroyed. Now the dialog is destroyed and the regular notification is shown instead. 2. Style changes (color, custom color, font style, font size) now redraw the digits immediately instead of on the next clock tick. Changing the color theme also refreshes the flicker pattern. 3. The settings schema now has ranges for font-size, glow-intensity and snooze-minutes, so invalid values written outside Preferences cannot cause problems (for example, a snooze of 0). OTHER - Three new translatable strings, translated into the four existing languages. README and metadata updated. Version bumped to 83.
