Review of "Retro LCD 7-Segment Clock" version 88

Details Page Preview

Vintage digital display with a high-fidelity 7-segment look. 10 color themes, custom colors, ghost segments, CRT scanlines, desktop widget mode, a quick color-switch menu, a date tooltip on hover, and integrated alarms with an on-screen dialog so they're never missed. Draws its digits from SVG path data embedded in the extension's code (no system font installation needed) and plays alarms through GNOME Shell's native sound theme; no bundled audio, font or image files.

What's new in v88... Small maintenance update on top of v87. No new features. 1. Late alarms (src/alarm/alarmManager.js) If the clock jumps forward (for example after resuming from suspend), an alarm that is one minute or more late no longer rings. Up to 30 minutes late, the existing "Missed alarm" notification is shown instead. This reuses the constants and notification that restore() already used. 2. Alarm bell (new src/shared/alarmState.js, plus alarmManager.js, clockView.js, clockDisplay.js, previewArea.js) The bell now shows only while an alarm can still ring, so a one-time alarm in the past no longer keeps it on. The new file is one pure function with no imports. The bell is refreshed in the existing once-per-tick render, so there are no new timeouts or signals. Nothing is changed in the settings. 3. UI text The "Show Date" description was wrong outside widget mode. The gettext string and the schema description were corrected. Schema keys, types and defaults are unchanged. The .pot and the es, de, fr and zh_CN translations are updated. 4. Duplicated constants The Retro LCD colors and the color theme order are now defined once in src/shared/colorUtils.js instead of in several files. Same behavior. 5. README and metadata README: restart instructions for GNOME 50, updated file tree. metadata.json: version 87 -> 88 only. No new imports, settings keys, timeouts, signals, subprocesses, file access or network access.
